Kooley High at the Local 506

I´ve never seen the Local 506 as hyped as it was last night. The place was completely packed and bumpin - such a fun show.  I wish I had more photos, the crowd was just insane. Next time I’ll try to figure out a way to get on stage…

Professor Toon at the Local 506

So much good local hip hop at the 506 last night. Really enjoyed this guy - keep making great music homie.

My brother is one of the most talented people I know.  He’s been playing the piano and singing since he was a little kid.  This song is one of his latest originals.

Thengo’s Song

Today was a good day.  My talented friend and camera comrade Jon Haas invited me to help him shoot a music video for the Mau a Malawi: Stories of AIDS project.  So we went to a big, beautiful warehouse in Durham and filmed for about two hours.  Jon had the hook up with an old school light kit so we set up multiple lights that created these gorgeous shadows on the wall.  I spent most of my time filming and photographing the shadows.  So fun.

Seth’s fingers…

… are sexy.  I have photographed Seth Barden playing the bass countless times over the past five years but this photo is a bit different from all the others.  I like how his fingers and the neck of his bass look like they’re suspended in some kind of ethereal void.  I think Seth would probably like it too.
