I’ve always said it’s easy to take good photos of beautiful people. Katelyn is the perfect example. sucker for sunrises

This post is a bit belated (I’ve been moving and just now unpacked my camera and card reader) but we spent Memorial Day weekend in DeBordieu, South Carolina and we stayed up all night and then watched the sunrise and it was awesome. I’ve always been a big fan of sunrises. Luke is too, his photos from that morning are here.

Missing the beach a lot right now. Need to go back soon…

now that’s a good lookin family

We enjoyed the festivities in Saxapahaw at the annual Haw River Festival on Saturday. Good friends, delicious food, great music (provided by the talented men of Deep Chatham!), and adorable children playing with giant bubbles. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

a rose-tinted night with Beats Antique

We saw Beats Antique for the first time about a year ago and they were really good. When we saw them again on Wednesday night, they were phenomenal. They know how to put on a one-of-a-kind show - stunning, weird, vibrant visuals and beautiful, pulsating music. The energy they brought to the Cradle was incredible.

Loops invited Erin and I to help him shoot a little music video for Mandolin Orange on Tuesday night. I’ve seen Emily and Andrew perform many times over the years but it was cool to be in such a close, intimate setting with them. I think we got some good footage too. I love being surrounded by talented musicians!

I’m on a farm!

I got to escape the office last week to do some filming in the mountains. It was a great trip. We got a couple shots in downtown Boone then drove out to an awesome little farm where we hung out with dogs, goats and cows. Goats are funny creatures. Very curious. Food was the only thing that distracted them from staring inquisitively at our cameras.

Another awesome night at the Local 506

So Adam and I made a New Years resolution to see as much live music as possible (realistically we decided at least every other week was a good goal). As is evident by all the recent photos from shows, we’re doing pretty well so far. We’ve been frequenting the Cradle and the 506 a good bit and we’ve seen a lot of great performances.

We saw Mobley at the 506 back in October and they were so good we knew we had to see them again. In addition to the high energy rock, they also bring a badass light show. I had a good time playing around with some long exposure settings.

The boys played another great show at the Pinhook on Friday night. I love Chapel Hill but it’s nice to change it up and party in the Bull City every now and then. Much fun had by all.

I´ve never seen the Local 506 as hyped as it was last night. The place was completely packed and bumpin - such a fun show. I wish I had more photos, the crowd was just insane. Next time I’ll try to figure out a way to get on stage…
